A new web site
Well we finally broke down and designed a new website. Check it out at http://www.gospellegends.org/
This blog has served us well and it will remain, but new items will likely go to the new website. We'll be talking about "gospellegends.org" on the air and we hope having a website will help us get the attention of other radio stations who might air the program.

Thanks
As we conclude 2007 we want to say "thanks." Thanks to the gospel singers, musicians, songwriters, and all those involved in bringing us so much good gospel music across the years. Also, thanks to KJIC radio, especially station manager Bob Vaughn, for giving us the opportunity to do this program. In a related thanks, we appreciate all the stations that air Classic Gospel Southern Style. We're thankful for our listeners. Many have emailed or written to encourage us and we appreciate the encouragement. Finally, we thank the Lord for giving us the opportunity to do CGSS!

NQC 2007
KJIC radio sent Ellis (along with Rachel and Sharon from the station) to the National Quartet Convention in September. Along with other things, Ellis talked to several of the artists you hear on Classic Gospel Southern Style and got liners from them. You'll hear those liners scatted through programs in the near future.

Remembering the Florida Boys
As you may know, the Florida Boys have just retired after over 50 years of gospel singing. Their final appearance as a quartet will be on the last night of the National Quartet Convention in September, 2007. Since our program focuses on gospel music from years gone by we decided to set aside some time to talk about and play their music on the show. Ellis took the project on and did a terrific job with it. "Ellis Remembers the Florida Boys" will air in two parts, as the final segments of the show on the weekend of August 25 and September 1. This is a special event that you won't want to miss. Check your our air times on the station you hear the program on.
